Located in the city of Cairns itself, Queens on Charles is a beautifully restored and very spacious Old Queenslander Bungalow offering Bed and Breakfast accommodation to adult visitors to Cairns .

The B & B is situated in a leafy inner city suburban area of Cairns city. The lodging is about an easy 20 minute stroll to the centre of Cairns, including the Pier Shopping Centre and Cairns Esplanade Lagoon - Public Swimming Pool and major shopping region of Cairns.

The Queens on Charles Bed and Breakfast Lodge is about a 10 minute cab ride from Cairns International and Domestic Airports and a taxi should cost about A$15 for the one way journey.

The Queenslander

Queens on Charles... A bit of a play on worlds this beautiful home is what is know in architectural terms as a Queenslander - a design of home developed to take advantage of the tropical climate. Most Queenslander homes feature wrap around balcony with overhanging eves to offer maximum shade and airiness. Most are of wooden construction and often raised off the ground on stilts - again to optimise the airiness of the structure.

Most Queenslanders have corrugated iron rooms and are characterised by large double opening doors and slatted window shutters to increase the ventilation in the days before air conditioning.

As this architectural style was born in the early part of the Australia's Federation, ornate woodworking features, both within and outside of the home, reflects the sentiments of the bygone era.

Booking, Charge and Cancellation policy:

  • A 2 night minimum stay is required.
  • There will be a non refundable deposit of 10% of the booked stay charged by M-Power Accommodation at the time of booking.
  • The remaining 90% cost of the stay will by charged during your stay.
  • If the booking is cancelled more than 7 days prior to booked arrival date, the 10% deposit will be forfeited.
  • If the booking is cancelled more than 2 day but less than 7 days of booked arrival, then the 90% balance of the first nights of the booked stay will also be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • If the booking is cancelled or shortened within 2 days of booked arrival or the guest fails to show for the booking, or shortens the stay once it has commenced, then the 90% balance of the entire booked stay will be charged as a cancellation fee.
  • By making a booking it is understood these conditions have been accepted.
  • The property and agent accepts no responsibility for adverse weather conditions.
  • M-Power Accommodation strongly recommends comprehensive Travel Insurance to cover losses due to unforseen circumstances.

  • The rates above include Tropical Continental Breakfast
  • Rooms come with all linen and towels. Full linen change and rooms servicing is provided every 7 days, with a room freshening every 3 days - at the above rates. Extra room service can be provided at a further cost.
  • Guests are encouraged not to smoke in rooms, however private patios adjoin the bedrooms where smoking is permitted.
  • All prices quoted are low season prices unless otherwise indicated.
