At Pink Flamingo, the wild life is something extra thrown in.

You’ll notice the difference the minute you arrive. Before you can even say ‘check in’ there’ll be a Pink Flamingo cocktail in your hand, a special sarong around your waist and a ‘Wow!’ on your lips.

THE POOL:It's heated, surrounded by tropical garden with sunbathing spots and coconut palms if you'd rather sit in the cool shade.

THE GYM: for those that feel the need to work for their indulgence, there's a treadmill, cycle and free weights.

THE POOL ROOM: this is a lesbian and gay resort after all, so rack up your balls!

BICYCLE HIRE: all big hills have been removed to make the going easy into Port Douglas or along the beach.

PORTABLE BBQ: invite everyone back to your place for a barbie.

VIDEO AND CD LIBRARY: don't worry it goes way beyond Bette Davies films Martina's Wimbledon finals.

Activities

This is where we really get going. Join in, watch from the edge or bury yourself under pillows on the daybed in your suite, the choice is yours. The perfect opportunity to let go, meet people and do those fun things you love but don't get chance to do at home.

• A DAY IN THE RAINFOREST: A 4WD cross country safari chosen by the World Heritage Commission. Visit places on a tour set by the people who know it best. (current charges around AUD$150)
• A DAY ON THE REEF: Head out to the Great Barrier Reef for snorkelling, diving and fishing. Yes same-sex snorkelling is permitted! (current charges around AUD$150)
• A MORNING AT THE ISLES: Snorkelling and morning tea in the stunning off-shore scenery. (current charges around AUD$120)
• COCKTAIL HOUR begins every night at five. Management reserves the right to wonder why the hell you're not there. You're on holiday for godsakes!
• YOGA held in our coconut grove to facilitate your de-stress progress.
• BEACH VOLLEYBALL: A weekly tournament so you can say daiquiris weren't the only thing you slammed down.

Could there be any better location than Port Douglas? Right between two spectacular world heritage areas: the pristine wilderness of the Daintree Rainforest and the breath-taking Great Barrier Reef.

The Daintree Rainforest is around 130 million years old - one of the most ancient in the world. Unspoilt wilderness, it’s tranquil and vibrant, powerful and fragile all at the same time, and home to thousands of species of animals and plants.

Port Douglas is the closest departure point for the biggest coral reef in the world. 3000 reefs and islands stretch over 2000 miles creating the world’s largest living structure. No one witnesses the magical sights of the Great Barrier Reef without a sense of awe.

Pink Flamingo is located across from the Sheraton Mirage and the magnificent four mile beach.

Tranquil and secluded, it is still just a few minutes away from the alluring range of restaurants, cafes and nightlife in Port Douglas.

Rooms and Rates

With just 10 private garden suites and 2 studio rooms, Pink Flamingo offers the kind of intimate environment where your presence makes a big difference. Set in award-winning gardens, you'll find a sense of space and privacy that few resorts can offer.

We have the ability to welcome well-behaved pets, but please, no bringing crocs back from the Daintree River… no matter how nicely they smile.

ONE BEDROOM GARDEN SUITES

Each garden suite is set in a private courtyard. At the doorway you'll find a pink flamingo for signalling that you don't want to be disturbed. Step past the portico and immediately luxuriate in the tropical foliage that surrounds your suite. Step past the decorative woodwork that adorns the entrance and immediately smell the tropical flowers that festoon your suite. The bright décor creates an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. The living room has a galley kitchen complete with fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Cushion-piled daybeds make relaxation an art-form.

TV/VCR, CD player, air-conditioning and fans mean you can create the perfect atmosphere for your mood. ISD/STD phones with modem point keep you in touch with the outside world while computers are available for accessing emails and the internet.

In the bedroom, you’ll find a king-size bed, big enough to roll for days in any direction, and of course an ensuite bathroom.

Step out from the living room into your own private garden featuring a massage cabana and a sunken outdoor bath. Salts and flowers are provided for you to create your ideal soaking environment.

ISD/STD phones with modem point keep you in touch with the outside world while computers are available for accessing emails and the internet.

You can step outside into your own private garden to get closer to nature.

Minimum Stay Requirements

If one night of the stay is December 31st, a 3 night minimum stay is required.

If the period of stay is between 22 February - 22 March 2007, s 7 night minimum stay is required.

Deposit:

• 25% of the entire booked stay charged at the time of booking.
• 75% Balance payable 14 days prior to arrival.

Cancellations:

• 25% Deposit is non-refundable.
• 75% Balance is refunded if cancellation occurs prior to arrival date.
• No refunds for stays that are shortened after arrival.
